PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One person is recovering after smoke and flames engulfed a Phoenix home on Friday morning.

Around 4 a.m., the fire broke out in the attic of a home near 7th Street and Glendale Avenue. Two people inside were able to evacuate before crews arrived. Phoenix Fire Capt. Shaun DuBois says firefighters got quick handle on the flames, preventing major damage in the home.

One of the homeowners was treated and taken to the hospital for minor burn injuries.

Arizona’s Family news crews witnessed heavy, white smoke shooting out of the roof. Multiple firefighters climbed to the roof and began cutting through to reach the flames.
