Taylor Swift is having a low-key Christmas. For today’s Christmas day NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Swift was nowhere to be found.

Her reason for skipping the Christmas game is pretty straightforward: She has only attended home games this season, and today, the Chiefs played in Pittsburgh, at Acrisure Stadium. A source told Page Six in October that the pop star was skipping away games due to a security risk. “She’s not going anywhere unless she knows the venue intimately, and it has been thoroughly scouted and secured in advance,” they said.

Her boyfriend Travis Kelce isn’t bothered about playing on the holiday. “I’ll play whenever, wherever. I just know that I’m so fortunate to be able to play this game that I’m gonna cherish every time I get to play on this field,” he said last week on his New Heights podcast.

Last year, Swift attended the Chiefs game on Christmas, which was played at home in Kansas City. For that game day, she wore a red Ralph Lauren sweater, a plaid mini skirt from Hill House Home, and accessorized with a Santa hat with ’87’ on the brim (Kelce’s number) and a Jennifer Behr bow barrette.

Swift has long been public about her love for Christmas. “I really love Christmas,” Taylor said in 2013. “I wish it was all year round, just like for the feeling that everybody has. Everybody’s buying gifts for each other and there’s sort of a feeling about it. But I think that the fact that I love it so much is probably because I grew up on a Christmas tree farm.” Yes: She did really grow up on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, until her family moved to Nashville so she could pursue a career in music.
