WASHINGTON (TNND) — After a multi-year hiatus, influencer David Dobrik has marked his return to YouTube.
The 28-year-old social media personality shared his first video in nearly three years by giving his audience a look at his fitness journey, which he said was a “year in the making.”
In the video, Dobrik said the transformation was part of a bet made with fellow YouTuber MrBeast and that he lowered his body fat from nearly 28% to 13%.
To accompany the new video, Dobrik posted a series of Instagram photos, writing “new year, new me, new vlog.”
“I couldn’t be more grateful for the people around me that pushed me this year to be a better version of myself. I owe everything to all my friends and especially Ilya who has literally changed my life,” Dobrik shared. “I love ya dude. I don’t feel like pudding anymore !!!!”
In a reel, Dobrik can be seen pre-transformation checking out his body. The video cuts to Dobrik showing off his new physique, complete with abs.
Commenters seemed to question whether the transformation was real or not, saying “the ‘is this AI?’ button”, and “If this is real hit me with the workout plan, if this is fake hit me whoever edited it.”
Dobrik last posted a video in 2022. It was then when he faced controversy over a former member of his “Vlog Squad” being injured after a stunt gone wrong. According to People Magazine, Dobrik was sued for $10 million by Jeff Wittek over alleged critical injuries from the 2020 stunt.
